To support the delivery of OEUK’s Data & Digital member offering we are looking for a subject matter expert to join our Supply Chain and People team as our Senior Data & Digital Business Adviser. Reporting to the Business Transformation and Growth Manager you will work with our members and stakeholders to understand the data & digital needs and requirements of the energy sector for today and the future. You will work with internal and external stakeholders to develop the data and digital strategy for the offshore energy sector, including oil, gas, wind, hydrogen, and carbon storage.

Key Accountabilities

  • Develop and deliver OEUK’s data & digital offering
  • Curate and deliver OEUK’s events on data and digital issues
  • Drive policies and engage with members and regulators to deliver a regulatory environment that supports effective exploitation of data & digital, and cross-company digital collaboration.
  • Determine sector priority areas in data & digital
  • Manage and respond to government consultations relevant to data & digital
  • Develop and maintain high-quality working relationships with key stakeholders
  • Act as data & digital subject matter expert to LOGIC
  • Drive the value of OEUK’s data assets in collaboration with the Market Intelligence team


Knowledge, Skills, and Attributes


Knowledge

  • A college level education, in industry related subjects or a degree in Information Technology, GIS, Information Management, Data Analytics, Data Science or equivalent qualifications E.G. HND, apprenticeship. Experience in other industry related subjects will be advantageous
  • Advanced level Microsoft suite skills are essential, with an understanding of data modelling and visualisation tools e.g. Power BI, considered an advantage 


Skills


Demonstratable skills and experience in data & digital, with specific understanding of:

  • E&P information types, and their current and legacy data formats and standards
  • How E&P data and information types are acquired, processed, and used
  • National Data Repository (NDR) operations and operational procedures
  • UKCS petroleum licensing processes and practices
  • UKCS regulations and legislation applicable to information and samples
  • Research skills, spanning qualitative and quantitative methods will be advantageous


Attributes

  • Good experience in acquiring, processing, using, or managing E&P information and GIS applications.
  • An understanding of the key drivers of company and stakeholder decision making
  • A disposition towards keeping up to date with information technology and its application to the digitalisation and automation of upstream oil and gas industry systems and processes
  • Good relationship management skills and the ability to deal with people at all levels
  • Ability to prepare, analyse and present complex information and data in an effective and timely manner
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills both verbally and in writing, with specific expertise in meeting facilitation, project management, minute taking and external communications and the ability to deliver results through others.
  • Energy and ability to work within and across teams, to facilitate effective decision-making and issues-management across OEUK
  • Evidence of strong work ethic and awareness of discretion and need to observe confidentiality in all matters.
