SALES DEVELOPMENT MANAGER – URETHANE INTERMEDIATES

location company car provided must be able to travel to meetings and travel to Surrey 3 times a month

MAIN PURPOSE OF ROLE:

To develop new business through effective penetration, technical promotion and service to new and existing customers, to develop appropriate business for the company to support the achievement of agreed revenue targets and to manage and develop relationships with new and existing suppliers in the Urethane Intermediates business.


Responsibility for:

  • generate new business through research and development of the assigned customers & prospective customers, applications, and territories.
  • develop with assigned customers & prospective customers a deeper understanding of their business needs and to identify development opportunities.
  • attend scheduled sales/operating meetings to enable discussion on new sales opportunities, financial sales results and sales objectives for the future.
  • keep abreast of market trends, developments, and competitive activities to ensure that the business is progressive.
  • manage assigned customers’ accounts receivables and avoid bad debts working with the finance department on all issues.
  • maintain and develop new and existing relationships with our suppliers of Urethane Intermediates.
  • be responsible for the profit & loss of the products assigned. Submission of budgets and performance to the agreed annual budgets.
  • provide live feedback on the business to the team, so that the team is constantly aware of all opportunities and risks for the business

Objectives:

  • achieve all agreed personal targets for appointments, research calls and revenue generated from assigned customers and new business.
  • develop structured account management plans to support the growth and development of your customers
  • work with the agreed pricing strategy, with the goal of exceeding target prices so that optimal price and margin can be achieved
  • produce all necessary reports, principally customer & supplier visit reports, feeding back all business opportunities, clear recommendations and actions, and follow through
  • periodically prepare and support preparation of market assessments and strategic plans


Skills/Requirements:

  • years’ experience in sales/business development/account management
  • years’ experience in polyurethane industry
  • or BA degree in business or technical field required. Technical degree may be a benefit.
  • team interaction and team leadership skills
  • communication skills, orally and written, both internal and external of the organization
  • interactive and interpersonal skills
  • negotiation skills and organizational partnering and leadership skills
  • be self-motivated, focused, confident, and results driven and possess positive “can do”, enthusiastic demeanour and attitude.
  • to understand, coordinate, and participate in problem resolution activities of both the internal and external partners and customers.
  • possess ability to manage multiple priorities and flexible to the need to change priorities.
  • be proficient in Microsoft Office Skills – Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
